Chapter 260 – Power of the Crane

Translated by: Berrrybunz

Edited by: XRCO, Earl, Natsuriayuko and De Andre

The sounds of swords unsheathing rang. Huo Ma Er’s subordinates did not look like any regular army, but they displayed the essence of drill trainings. They urged their horses, s.p.a.cing out between themselves, all of their expressions stern.

“Seize the hillside in front of us.”

Huo Ma Er took the lead going forward. In front of them was a hill with a gradual slope, with gra.s.s grown all over. The enemies movements were coming from the other side of the hillside. If the enemies held the high ground, then they would have lost the favorable advantage.

Huo Ma Er’s subordinates trusted her completely, hearing the order, all of them shot out like arrows, and rushed to the top of the hillside.

Tang Tian and gang looked at each other. Were they supposed to chase along with them?

For the past few days, they had travelled day and night, rus.h.i.+ng forward at high speed. As long as martial artists did not care about the exhaustion of True Power, and used all their might to rush forward, their speed far exceeded carriages. The strong points of carriages were that they were durable and lasting, and could fly consecutively for months.

If the enemies lying in wait and ambush were so fast, which meant they had strong people under them, to Tang Tian and gang, it was bad news.

Tang Tian, Ling Xu and Crane immediately rushed up the hillside.

Going up the hillside, the view before them expanded out. They saw a group of roughly 100  hors.e.m.e.n rus.h.i.+ng towards them, with the distance between them less than 200 steps.

Looking at them, Tang Tian felt that those were not the enemies chasing after them, and the three of them heaved a sigh of relief.

“Kill!”

Huo Ma Er’s powerful shout sounded out.  She was the one in the lead, like a blazing fireball, dauntlessly rus.h.i.+ng towards the opposite calvary. The subordinates by her side all shouted out weird gibberish, and without hesitation, they all a.s.saulted downwards.

“Such a fierce girl!” Ling Xu exclaimed.

Tang Tian and Crane had the same feeling. The enemies numbered five times more than hers, but they did not even frown and directly went to a.s.sault. That was too fearsome!

Huo Ma Er blazed up with a red light aura, enveloping the horse together with her. Her horse was obviously not a normal horse, its speed was as quick as lightning. Compared to Ling Xu’s Flamingo, it was not inferior in any aspect.

Huo Ma Er borrowed the force. Wielding a machete in her hands, a ray of hot red blade aura whistled right into the enemy.

Three enemies did not dodge in time, fresh blood spurting out, their wails screamed out as they dropped off their horses.

Both sides were fast. As Huo Ma Er released that blade, she rushed into the enemy. Her machete skills were weird but swift, releasing techniques upon techniques. With crescent blade auras releasing out into the sky, a person would inevitably drop with every blade.

“So strong!” Crane growled, “She should be at least as strong as people in the Heavens Road List reserve.”

“So powerful!” Tang Tian was surprised, it was his first time meeting a strong woman. “Her blade techniques are strong, and the release of her techniques are so fast, Little Xu Xu, are you faster or is she faster?”

Ling Xu snorted, “She is not worthy to be my opponent.”

That arrogant speech was something everyone expected out from Ling Xu.

Every sweep of Huo Ma Er boosted the morale of her subordinates, making them become more fearless. Seeing that the opponent’s formation was being pushed into confusion, Huo Ma Er thought that by adding more power, the opponent would be thoroughly defeated.

The enemy troops became very messy, and ownerless horses were rampant everywhere. The horses were expensive and valuable resources, so no one would rashly kill them.

Huo Ma Er noticed that the enemy troops had a strong statured man who used an extremely heavy mace. He had already injured three of her men. Killing intent rose in Huo Ma Er’s eyes. Urging her horse,  leaning forward, the machete in her hand naturally hung down, like a willow leaf drifting in the wind, she ran with an unspeakable rhythm.

Her speed was extremely fast, like red-colored lightning. The moment she had rushed to the front of the big-statured man, the machete in her hand trembled. A cold blade aura aimed straight for the big-statured man’s face.

The mace instantly flew up and welcomed the blade aura, and the big statured man suddenly exposed a smile.

Huo Ma Er’s pupils constricted. Not good!

Chi!

A fine thorn sword had pierced into her horse’s belly without a sound, and the deadly sharp sword aura suddenly impaled the horse’s body. A short and small vague figure suddenly scuttled out from the big statured man horse’s stomach, and stuck into Huo Ma Er’s horse stomach instead.

Huo Ma Er did not make it in time to block. A thick thumb-sized blue sword aura pierced into her left shoulder, bringing forth fresh blood, but disappearing right after it pierced a hole.

The mace of the big statured man swept towards her.

Huo Ma Er only felt as if she had banged into a strong wall, groaned once and instantly flew out.

Even before she had the chance to land on the ground, a blue cold aura appeared in front of her eyes. It had the shape of some kind of monster, taking the chance to get closer to her.

She became like ice, as her blood almost froze.

She realized who this a.s.sa.s.sin was – Yan Jiu Zhi!

With Yan Jiu Zhi’s strength, she realized that she was going to be defeated, and despair crept into her eyes.

Suddenly, a dazzling sparkle that looked like fire arrows suddenly rushed into her vision. This wave of sparkles struck directly onto the blue sword aura and exploded out.

Huo Ma Er barely escaped from death, and in a panicked state, she subconsciously pulled back to keep a distance.

After retreating a few metres, she then saw clearly that Tang Tian was standing in front of her.

This fellow… can actually block Yan Jiu Zhi’s sword!

Tang Tian bellowed, “Hey, you can’t kill her, and I don’t wish to kill you. Get lost! I don’t want to make things difficult for you all.”

Huo Ma Er’s expression froze on her face. She deeply suspected that Tang Tian’s brain was fried. How could he say such embarra.s.sing words?

At this time she saw Yan Jiu Zhi’s figure. Yan Jiu Zhi was very small, roughly about 1.6 m tall, with a gloomy and cold look like a snake. In his hand was a gleaming blue sword.

Yan Jiu Zhi’s pupils constricted, “Who are you?”

“My name is Tang Tian!” Tang Tian patted his chest, with a proud look on his face, “I am a Heavens Road List martial artist, and I am very powerful!”

Everyone looked towards Tang Tian, and their expression became weird. Huo Ma Er’s face became red, feeling embarra.s.sed for him. That proud look of his was more like a hoodlum bully, there was not a trace of heroism in him.

Heaven Road List martial artist, you must be lying…

Ridicule appeared in Yan Jiu Zhi’s eyes, “Heaven Road List? Hah!”

He suddenly disappeared, and a dense blue light appeared at Tang Tian’s throat.

The big-statured man took the chance to make his move. Suddenly rus.h.i.+ng forward, brus.h.i.+ng past Tang Tian’s head, the mace waved at a high angle and exploded out, smas.h.i.+ng towards Huo Ma Er!

Ding!

A black figure arrived on point, a perfectly straight white sword aura held the mace back by its sword tip.

The big-statured man carrying the mace only felt an extremely sharp sword aura breaking through his True Power, drilling straight to his meridians, and could not help to be overwhelmed with shock. The body that was like an iron tower flew back.

Just at this time, Tang Tian moved.

The Cat blade brought three rays of blood traces, blocking Tang Tian’s front, interlocking with Yan Jiu Zhi’s thorn sword. Tang Tian’s body did not budge an inch.

A cold aura flashed past Jiu Yan Zhi’s eyes. His thorn sword that was stuck suddenly shot out a blue sword beam directly towards Tang Tian’s face.

As though Tang Tian already predicted this move, he moved his head, and relaxingly dodged.

Jiu Yan Zhi’s eyes became a small dot. He’s an expert!

His True Power surging out, the fine thorn sword that was locked released a ripple, like a python struggling with all its might.

Tang Tian suddenly smiled at Yan Jiu Zhi, causing his heart to jump. The binding on his fine thorn side suddenly disappeared, it was free! Yan Jiu Zhi’s became joyous and instantly retreated, but suddenly a sharp and acute True Power pierced into his meridians from his thorn sword.

Not good!

Yan Jiu Zhi felt as if an awl had pierced into his meridians, causing his face to change. The True Power in his body almost became chaotic, resulting in him spitting out blood. Unable to suppress the surging Qi and blood in his body, he dropped his head and ran.

He fell into a trap!

This person was powerful and unfathomable, that dumb look and act, was to fake him.

Tang Tian also forgot to give chase. He stood there blankly, recalling and memorizing the feel of that attack. His power was definitely stronger than Yan Jiu Zhi, but in terms of meeting force with force, without exchanging at least 10 moves, it was hard to determine who won. But his own intuition actually predicted the opponent’s reaction, and borrowing the power from his opponent’s withdrawal, he took advantage of it and sent in some of his own True Power. He did not expect the result to be so good and unusual.

So True Power can also be used like that!

It was as though Tang Tian had opened another window of possibility, by using a small force to overwhelm the big. Instead of forcing out True Power, the result was far less than by taking advantage of the opponent. If used perfectly, by using only a bit of True Power, it could give rise to extraordinary results.

Strong and weak are forever relative and change.

A trace of essence blossomed in Tang Tian’s eyes. His heart was filled with a powerful excitement, because he had already gained full enlightenment on his martial techniques, he could see so many changes.

The True Power in his body surged. The Crane Body Energy suddenly relaxed then tightened, becoming faintly discernible. Crane Body Energy, Crane Body Energy… it’s true essence was not what he thought of as the shape of a crane body. The true essence was about the changes and variations of the crane body!

Changes and variations!

That’s right, variations!

Power from the different variations!

Tang Tian could not hold back anymore, looked up to the sky and howled. The Crane Body inside his body was no longer confined and limited  to its crane shape as before as well. It suddenly spread its wings and neck, suddenly standing straight and having a myriad of changes. This was due to the countless minute True Power converging into the crane that suddenly became extremely active, as if they were revived from the dead

This Ccrane Body was responding to Tang Tian, crying out from its outstretched neck. Tang Tian’s body suddenly had an unspeakable grandeur!

The cry was clear and melodious, but not at all reverberating. It was extremely clear to the ears within the distance of 5 km.

Crane’s (Person) body suddenly trembled, turned to look in disbelief at Tang Tian. That was… the Power of the Crane!

Being enlightened on the true essence of the Crane body energy, and then learning the Power of the Crane….

Ling Xu also looked at Tang Tian in disbelief. This fellow, did he just breakthrough like that?

That long cry, completely ravaged the enemy’s willpower, as Huo Ma Er looked at Tang Tian in shock. That long cry was endless, and completely ignoring her True Power, it penetrated into her heart, but she had no idea of how to resist it.

Yan Jiu Zhi who was running for his life heard that cry, causing the True Power in his body to revolt, and he instantly fell from the sky and landed on his face. His face was dumbstruck, without any trace of fighting intent, he struggled back up on his feet, and escaped in a panic.

Tang Tian slowly opened his eyes. The Crane Body in his body was changing continuously. His pupils were as clear as water, without the trace of any impurity. Even the air around him, slowly became pure and limpid, free from dust and dirt, rising spontaneously.

“Wa ha ha! I really am a G.o.dlike young man!”

In the dead silence, Tang Tian’s abrupt laughter was so lofty, so ear piercing, stunning everyone else.

The atmosphere was broken just like that. Everyone stared blankly at Tang Tian who had his hands on his waist, laughing wildly while looking up at the sky. This arrogant person had caused everyone’s mind to go blank.

This this this…. This change is too sudden….
