I just accidentally completed my training!
His mind was still running wild. He hadn't regained his composure yet, and he still had no idea how he had managed to fulfil the requirements.
Ye Zhong tried to perform again with the Black Bird, and it was all successful. Ye Zhong tried to figure out how but failed.
After thinking through half a day, Ye Zhong gave up. The explanation wasn't his top priority; capability was all that mattered. More importantly, he didn't have to swallow the organic liquid food the following week.
Ye Zhong paused his training and left the virtual network, as he still had the steel ball training to complete. After Wen Ni was broken, Mu had put it on the schedule again.
However, after this training, it had dawned on Ye Zhong that speed wasn't everything.
Sun Xuelin gently comforted her cousin Xu, whose face was colorless from the fright. She felt deeply grateful towards YC. Luckily he had managed to catch cousin Xu, otherwise no one could tell what consequences could have happened. Thinking back, she realised that he was much further than her, but faster than her. And it alarmed her. However, her worries were soon overshadowed by her curiosity. How could he have improved so fast? Maybe he was hiding his true abilities last time.
With fear flashed in her eyes, a pretty face with fair skin, shoulder-length black hair that appeared a bit messy, and trembling slender body, A Xiu was like a flower bud fluttering in the cold wind. Those that saw her wouldn't help but feel pity.
Feeling bad for A Xiu, Sun Xuelin fixed A Xiu's fair. A Xiu couldn't take it any longer, she buried her face in Sun Xuelin's arms, m.u.f.fling her cry. Sun Xuelin, like a big sister, quietly rubbed A Xiu's shoulders. Although A Xiu was only a dozen days younger than Sun Xuelin, due to her fragile nature, she always followed Sun Xuelin closely. Sun Xuelin also adored this cousin of hers. She had always been fearless, together with her father's guidance, no one had ever dared to provoke her. Thus, she became A Xiu's guardian angel. Two years ago, her aunt had moved away, A Xiu and Sun Xuelin were separated, but A Xiu was still dependent on this big sister of her.
Sun Xuelin softly consoled "A Xiu, don't cry, don't cry. We will head home, alright? Let's go home first"
A Xiu obediently nodded.
Sun Xuelin hugged A Xiu whose face was dripping with tears and left the network. She still glanced back at the training room before departing.
Did he recognise me? Did he nod in greeting me?
Sun Xuelin couldn't help but felt bothered by it.

The next day, Ye Zhong started his new training regime: different kinds of training and locations. Because it was the first day, his movements was still awkward, but he was highly focused. Burying himself in practicing, he didn't notice the arrival of the two uninvited guests. They had been standing aside observing him for a while.
Sun Xuelin was so stunned that her jaw dropped. A duck egg could have fit into her mouth. She looked at the inept person at the training ground in a daze. Was that the YC that had awed her the day before? If seeing him at a basic training base was a surprise, watching him earnestly practicing the movements she had done since the age of 8 or 9, clumsily as if he just learnt it recently, shocked her to the core.
He had never learned the basics? If he did, why would he be here? Moreover, how could his movements be so inept? If he had never done it, how could he have finished the highly complex Chaos Arching Track Leap? Luck?
The only thing Sun Xuelin could be sure was that he was a strange one!
A Xiu was staring at the mecha Black Bird that was practicing like he was in a trance. Her eyes twinkled that it could have confused the others as to what she was thinking about.
The two fixated on the figure that was practicing carefully on the training ground.
After a while, Sun Xuelin was back to her usual self and saw that A Xu still standing motionless beside her. She was surprised, and asked "A Xiu, why are you still standing here? You are not practicing today?" and made fun of her "Don't tell me you are still scared from yesterday? So you don't dare to practice today?"
A Xiu came back to her senses, blushed and answered with embarra.s.sment "Ah …. Uhmm… I'll …. I'll go now"
And staggeringly controlled Black Bird to fly down.
Looking at A Xiu's Black Bird wiggling in midair, as if it could plunge down at any moment, made Sun Xuelin anxious. She was dripping cold sweat but still comforted A Xiu "Don't be afraid, it's alright, I'm standing right here"
Arriving at the training ground, A Xiu looked around perplexedly.
A Xiu's voice choked with bafflement "Xuelin, I think … I think … I forgot … everything I that learnt yesterday already"
Sun Xuelin felt woozy, patting her forehead non-stop. She looked as if she was about to faint.
Since he was all about food, Ye Zhong was completely unaware of the two extra people in the room. If only they had approached him, they could have heard his mumbling "Meat … I want to eat meat …"

Mu Shang's requirements were harsh. If a toe could think, even it could have known that that was the limit for the Black Bird.
Ye Zhong repeated over and over again during this boring training, not paying attention to the time. Only till Mu Shang had reminded him his time was up, he had realized that he was absolutely ravenous and that his abdomen skin could have stuck to his back. Ye Zhong left the network immediately.
Sun Xuelin and A Xiu stared at where Ye Zhong had just disappeared in dismay.
From then onwards, there were always two figures standing from afar watching Ye Zhong at his training ground.
Obviously Ye Zhong realized that. Constant vigilance had become his survival instincts. However, the two mechas always stood there observing, never bothered him once. Since it didn't affect him, he didn't pay much attention to it. He just wondered how they weren't tired of watching his basic and tedious trainings.
It didn't matter anyway. Ye Zhong thought to himself. If he didn't give it his all, there would only be tasteless organic liquid food awaiting him at home.
Ye Zhong continued his training, Sun Xuelin and A Xiu kept watching. As if both sides had some kind of unspoken rules, never approached, and the most interaction that they had was in nodding to greet each other.
Ye Zhong's actual training had a great breakthrough. He could finally train with 10 steel b.a.l.l.s for up to half an hour. His physical training also reached a new high. Ye Zhong could sense that his powers has expanded greatly. His running speed was five times faster compared to before, his strength increased seven folds, and his arms' speed was eleven times faster. However, the biggest surprise was that his weight had remained unchanged. Even Mu Shang clicked his tongue and commented so.
Even without the mecha, Ye Zhong could have hunted a few low level mutated beasts. His physical transformation was obvious.
Ye Zhong's right hand was holding an extremely thin sharp blade. His left hand was grabbing on an aromatic and freshly roasted Rat leg. Ye Zhong flung his wrist slightly, a slice of meat as thin as a dragon fly's wing, almost transparent, flew off the meat chunk and curled up. With tremendous agility, Ye Zhong pushed lightly with the tip of the blade. The meat slice quickly disappeared into his mouth. His arm moved increasingly fast, the meat sliced off from the leg like machine gun bullet, shooting straight into his mouth. His face was full of gratification.
Ye Zhong discovered by accident that if the meat was thinly cut, it could have retained the freshly roasted aroma. Moreover, it seemed to melt on his tongue, extremely yummy! Thus, the thinner, the better!
The Rat leg shrunk more and more, and in no time, only a bone was left, clean as if it was just thoroughly washed.
Ye Zhong exhaled contentedly and tossed the bone to one side. He stretched his body lazily "Mu, I already completed my basic training. What should I do today?"
Although everyday was tough yet boring, Ye Zhong already got used to it. Still, it's much better than before, when he had nothing to do. Nowadays, his life undoubtedly was enriched significantly. Therefore, having no target all of a sudden confounded him.
Suddenly, he remembered about the Shadow Phoenix and Black Bird that was always watching his training. Although they never spoke a word to each other, and only nodded every now and then, he felt sentimental while thinking what if they had never met again. He decided to tell them that he no longer needed the training room. No, stop it! Ye Zhong tried to push away his thought. Friend? Maybe it was only his selfish desires. He and those two were from different worlds. Maybe this farewell was for the best. But if he could have left the dump planet, maybe they could have been friends. Ye Zhong couldn't help but fantasize about it.
Mu Shang coldly told him "Actual combat, acc.u.mulation of certain combat experiences, and then learn advanced techniques" interrupting Ye Zhong's thought.
Ye Zhong's eyes lit up "Actual combat? That was much better than I had expected! I like actual combat the most. It's dead boring training all day" all of his sentiments went away in a blink.
After such a long time training, now he finally had a chance to show off, he couldn't help but look forward enthusiastically.
