Lone Harem Meister Chapter 12: Idle Talk, Hinata and Yuuki’s First Meeting
Note, this is not exactly like the raws. It was edited slightly to make it flow easier. If it doesn’t, well, chalk it up to lack of sleep.

Idle talk, Hinata and Yuuki’s First Meeting
It was from when Kiriyama Yuuki became a junior high student I guess. I was a.s.signed as a school nurse in a different junior high school than where Yuuki went, but still, I heard the rumors.
“Murderer”, “Killer”, “Cuckoo”, “Monster”, “Psychopath”,. and variously such name were spread. Even whilst I was at a junior high school all the way from a neighboring town, those rumors still reached my ear.
I was supposed to take cake of that Yuuki boy, that’s what I promised s.h.i.+no, but as one would expect, being that we were at different junior high schools, it was very hard. However, an opportunity came to learn more about him in October when Kiriyama Yuuki became a second year in junior high. This was right when the cultural festival had ended.
It had been decided that the junior high school’s of the city would hold a meeting on student health with management and nutrition at the school Yuuki commuted to.
Of course I had no reason to miss such a chance, and used once I was there to to ask permission from the school nurse at Yuuki’s school to get a tour.
And so, I planned to find out about him that day.
“Good afternoon, Hakeyama-sensei,” I spoke.
“Yes, good afternoon Kamiya-sensei.”
Hatakeyama-sensei was the school nurse at Yuuki’s junior high school. He was a big veteran teacher with 30 years under his belt as a school nurse.
“I’m sorry to ask for such a tour so suddenly.”
“No, no, not at all. Being aware and generalizing yourself with the student body of other junior high schools is important as a school nurse too. There is no need for you to apologize.”
“I’m glad you say that.”
He laughed, and continued, “Well then, since it’s lunch break right now, why don’t we walk around the cla.s.srooms starting from the first years?”
“Hmm, then i’ll be in your care.”
As we went, I saw the first year cla.s.ses one by one; but they didn’t seem any different from my junior high school.
“How is it? Is there a place that’s different than your junior high?”
“Hmm … there are not many difference. It seems we are structured similarly.”
“Is that so. Well then, let’s go to second year’s cla.s.sroom next.”
I didn’t miss it. As soon as Hakeyama mentioned the second years, just for a flicker of a moment, his facial expression darkened.
“Here is the floor for the second years.”
As we pa.s.sed a cla.s.sroom, I saw a child sleeping on a desk even though it was lunch break.
“Oh, and that child is…?”
“That child is the rumored Kiriyama Yuuki. He is a seemingly normal child, but… those rumors going around are persistent.”
“I see, in the end, what’s his school life like?”
As soon as I asked, Hakeyama gave me a troubled look.
“Well, when he first enrolled, he seemed strong willed, but as we went further into the autumn of his first year, his personality changed. He had been bullied right up until then, but then the bullying just stopped.”
Would bullies stop so easily? I’ve seen those students. It’s not easy to just disappear from notice, and it’s not so si
mple for a bully to understand the standpoint of the one being bullied and just stop on their own. So what was it?
“The reason why the bullying stopped seems be after a fight one day. With his bruised up face, and without much facial expression, he only asked one thing.”
“And that thing is?”
“‘Do you want to die?’… Or so I heard.”
Hmm. In one way, it was an amazing way to do things, but by capitalizing on his ‘sin’… Any child being asked by someone known for killing another would find it horrifying. They might think that he would really kill them.
Given how I knew of his true personality from what s.h.i.+no had told me, it was thent hat I understood how clever Kiriyama Yuuki was,
“Is there something wrong?” Hakeyama asked, seeing me lost in thought.
“No, nothing’s wrong. So how is his school life now?”
“He has been isolated from the rest of the cla.s.s, but now that the bullying has stopped, things are much more peaceful.”
It seems he had the idea of not to getting involved with his cla.s.smates. Even so, I was becoming more interested in the boy.
“Then, let’s go to the third year cla.s.ses…”
And so, at the end of the tour, I attended the meeting that day since that was my job, and returned home.
I guess that was my first real chance to know a little more about Kiriyama Yuuki.
“…and so, that’s what happened, Yuki. ”
“So there was such a thing. But you haven’t told me about the story involving him and s.h.i.+no, y’know?”
“Hmm… about that, since I am his teacher, if you want to know, you should ask Yuuki directly.”
“Is that so… then, can I ask one more thing? ”
“I’m listening….”
After Yuki said what she had to say, she finished with, “Then, please help me with this.”
I was surprised by Yuki’s proposal, but since I found it quite interesting, I decided to go along with it.
“Then, let’s go to Yuuki’s house for right now.”
