Xiling Empire Chapter 9

(Ch.9) Harmless?

Fifteen minutes isn't very long or very short, but in this fifteen
minutes I saw sight that is more science fiction than any movie. In fifteen
minutes, three men transform from criminals to three idiots. When I recall the
sight of Pandora sticking the needle into their head, I nearly threw up again……

With a light tick from within Pandora's body, time resumes, people
continues to run away, paper flakes keeps falling, and dusts continue to act as
background. Silent world is suddenly filled with all kinds of voice, like the
screaming of students, the screaming of students, and the screaming of
students……

I feel like brain is about to explode……the contrast to too sharp……

But soon, the screaming stops, because someone finally realizes that
the three men are all on the floor now, drooling and biting their fingers like
babies……

Actually, if someone is careful enough, they could still notice the feeling of incoordination. Although Pandora did her best to put the men on
their original position, but because the discontinuity of time, there's still
some abnormality, like a video cut in the middle and the beginning and end is
put together, a few frames are missing. But since everyone's busy running for
their life, no one noticed this little abnormality.

Under normal circ.u.mstances, it's time for polices to come out and
sweep the floor…… I'm not interested in what will happen next, I just want to
leave this messed-up place.

So I pull Qian Qian's hand and drag her into the school, she's so
terrified all she can do is stumble behind me.

No one noticed that a pair of bright big eyes is staring at us
shockingly and suspiciously from the school across the street.

We rest for a long time under one of the school's building before
Qian Qian finally realizes what happened. She took a deep breath and says,
"Fewf……It scared the c.r.a.p out of me. I thought those things only happen on TV, I never imagined it to happen around us."

I grin unnaturally, compared to you, what I just saw is much more unrealistic!

"Hey, Jun, why did the three men do that? Because of money? Maybe, all students there are rich, but why do they all look like that at the end? Do they have
heart attacks at the same time??"

I sign, "Qian Qian, you do have super strong nerves……You recover so fast……"

"Of course, we didn't get any actual harm, do I need to leave a psychological scar?" Qian Qian's super strong nerves perfectly do their job, the shooting doesn't seem to have much effect on her, making a sharp contrast with panicking
students running pa.s.s us.

"Oh, Jun, bring Lily to the office, it's late……Lily, are you OK? Do you want your brother to just bring you home?"

Qian Qian's words reminded me, I forgot something important. I forgot Pandora! I just dragged Qian Qian with me, I forgot Pandora……Did she quietly followed us all the way here?

I stood still, looking at the quiet girl pretending to be blind, with  complicated emotions in my eyes. Although I know that she's not human, but because her appearance is totally identical to human, I just can't help seeing her as a little girl with weird personality. But, her humanoid weapon form, brutally reminded me that, this girl that I call my little sister, is actually not human. She is just a weapon from the far away Xiling Empire.

Suddenly, I don't even know how to face her.

It's not that I dislike her, instead, when facing this cold girl that knows all me secrets, I always feel pity genuine. Maybe that's why it's so hard for me  to accept the fact that she is not human, and that she's just a humanoid weapon.

"Jun, what happened? Why are you staring into s.p.a.ce again? Is it because what just happened?" Qian Qian saw me quietly staring at my sister, and she is worried. Something in her tone tells me that she is convinced that I was frightened by what happened. What a blow on my self-esteem……

"I'm okay. I'm just worried if Lily is frightened……go to cla.s.s. I already told the teacher that I'll bring Lily to cla.s.s before going to our cla.s.s."

Qian Qian observes me for a few second, making sure that there's nothing wrong
with me, then replies, "Oh, bye, hurry up!"

……you are a few months younger than me, don't act like you're taking care of me……

"Emperor……"

"Don't call me emperor anymore." I firmly interrupted her.

Pandora seems to be surprised by what I just said, I can see a bit of her surprise on her emotionless face. Her grey eyes widens, making it a bit cuter.

A few seconds later, she finally reacted, "Emperor is the t.i.tle for all highest competence individuals in Xiling Empire. If you wish, I can add 'your majesty', according to the norm of this world."

"No, that's not what I meant. Call me brother, and use this t.i.tle from now on."

Pandora stares at me, and then, I hear a "bzzz" sound coming from her body,
like high-voltage current running through adapter. A few seconds later, a light
white smoke raises from her head……

Heyheyhey, I just told you to change the way you call me, how did this give you a short circuit?

"Verified with the database, this t.i.tle does not violate Xiling Law. I changed my
default t.i.tle list, but under battle-mode the t.i.tle stays as before."

Suddenly, she points to her head, "Brother, I overloaded……"

She looks sooooooooo cute!!!

Introducing Pandora to her cla.s.smates is easier than I thought. Her "story" quickly grabs the sympathy of her whole cla.s.s, she immediately becomes the center of attention and love; everyone can't wait to show their love to this "poor" girl. The
enthusiasm of the cla.s.s even makes Pandora a bit overwhelmed.

That made me a.s.sured - at least I don't need to worry about anyone bullying her because she's "blind" and killed by her phase shock gun. Pandora told me that if any
carbon-based organism tries to offend her, as a general of Xiling Empire, she has the duty to maintain the honour of Xiling Military. And the way she maintain the honour is by using violence - the limit to what violence she can use really scared me, I even see weapons for planets on the list!!

So far, my biggest with is that there won't be any idiot trying to offend Pandora…

Of course, without the support from outpost, she couldn't possible use weapon for planets, the most she can use is probably "just" legion-cla.s.sed weapons……

So, cla.s.smates, don't be fooled by her "harmless" appearance~~~
