Chapter 57.1 - Uh oh, hit the wrong person 2

Tang Xiao had gone to the bathroom for a while, and hadn’t come back yet.

Xiao Lin decided to go find her but instead, she found a Spirit Road keychain by the bathroom sink.

She even went looking inside the male bathroom, but she still didn’t find anyone.

“My G.o.d! Oh no! There’s someone lying down by the back door!” A noise suddenly screeched from the empty corridor, shocking Xiao Lin into shuddering.

When she reacted, she panicked and ran towards the back door.

There, she found Taang Xiao slumped to the side, a clear mark on her forehead.

When Xiao Lin was dialing Mu Cheng’s number, her hands were shaking.

“Tang Xiao’s died.”

“....”

“No, no, no, I mean, Tang Xiao’s lying by the back door, in real life, it seems like she’s fainted.”

Mu Cheng quickly arrived. His forehead had a few beads of sweat.

“I’ll send her to the hospital first.”

His hands and feet were frantic as he hurried to send her to the hospital.

When Xiao Lin reached the hospital, she panicked as she called Chief Ning, “Chief Ning, Tang Xiao got beaten up by someone.”

Over the phone, Chief Ning had zero panic in his voice as he slowly spoke, “Oh, help me congratulate her. She’s finally received karma. She wouldn’t have lost her equipment too, would she?”

Chief Ning thought that they were talking about in-game so he wasn’t worried at all.

Xiao Lin froze.

“She didn’t lose her equipment, but she’s in hospital now.”

Chief Ning: ….

“Which hospital?” A door slammed on his side of the phone as he called out to his a.s.sistant.

He quickly strode into the elevator to head down to the bas.e.m.e.nt carpark.

“Number three hospital.”

When Tang Xiao entered into the hospital, Mu Cheng naturally followed.

This target was too big.

There were lots of reporters waiting on standby, by the hospital doors.

There were so many reporters huddled around that Chief Ning could only go through the back door.

“Where are you?” Chief Ning dialled Tang Xiao’s number, but the person who picked up was Mu Cheng.

“Hospital section, 14th floor.”

“Is it serious?”

Mu Cheng said, “She was. .h.i.t by a wooden pole and fell unconscious. Adding onto her recent stress and lack of sleep, she’s just fallen asleep now.”

When Chief Ning entered the room, Tang Xiao was sleeping peacefully.

Mu Cheng sat by her bedside and watched her quietly.

Mu Cheng gestured for the two people to talk outside.

“What exactly happened?” Chief Ning’s tone was bad.

Mu Cheng looked back at the Tang Xiao who was lying in bed. “Someone saw Tang Xiao and Ji Mingxiu leave together through the back door. But Ji Mingxiu’s also hospitalised.”

Chief Ning suddenly whipped his head backwards as he furrowed his brows, “Ji Mingxiu?”

Tang Xiao and Mu Cheng, now another Ji Mingxiu?

With the three people entering the hospital, it really was too big of movement to ignore.

No wonder there were so many reporters waiting at the bottom.

“I just told Ziyang to ask around. It seems like he also got hit but he’s seriously injured. He hasn’t woken up since. I heard from a worker that Tang Xiao was the one who brought Ji Mingxiu outside.”

Chief Ning paused. “He was. .h.i.t by Tang Xiao?”

“Probably not.”

Chief Ning paid for her hospital fees as Mu Cheng went back inside to accompany Tang Xiao.

When he calmed down, Mu Cheng started to feel fear.

Tang Xiao was so fearless in game, so much that whenever she b.u.mped into something that didn’t go smoothly, she’d just roll up her sleeves and throw punches, with no regard for the consequences.

But now she was doing that in real life too.

No matter what, when he heard that it was Tang Xiao who brought Ji Mingxiu to the back door, Mu Cheng felt like a hand was gripping onto his heart tightly.

Somehow, without him knowing, Tang Xiao was already tied to his heart.

The person on the bed slightly moved.

“Mu Cheng …” Tang Xiao called out softly.

Her eyes opened as she grimaced, touching her forehead.

Mu Cheng quickly stopped her, holding her hands inside of his. “Don’t touch it, it’s just lightly bruised.”

Tang Xiao then realised that Mu Cheng’s eyes were bloodshot, his voice was hoa.r.s.e.

“I made you worry.” Tang Xiao said.

Mu Cheng sucked in a deep breath. “Why did you go with Ji Mingxiu through the back door?”

“He stopped me by the toilets, saying that he wanted to talk to me. He was clearly trying to say that he wanted me to sleep with him for opportunities. So I was so angry that I wanted to drag him to a place where no one could see, and then beat him up. But in the end, it seems like someone already planned to beat him up so I was caught in the fire.” Tang Xiao explained.
