“Why did I beat him up? I should have talked with him first?.....No, I tried talking to him but he never listened. It’s all his fault. He made me do all of this. If he had listened to me, what I have to say maybe we’d have avoided all this. But nothing can be done about--”
Knock…knock…. “Kelly! Are you listening to me? How long are you going to stay in there?” Natasha said disrupted Kelly.
“I’ll be out in a sec.” Kelly glanced at the door and answered in a hurry.
She changed into other clothes and left the bathroom. Natasha was in the kitchen. Kelly went in her bedroom. She sprawled on the bed.
“Here. Have some warm chocolate it will ease you a bit.” Natasha handed a cup of hot chocolate to Kelly.
Kelly sat up on the bed. “Thanks. I really need that you know.” Kelly said with a relaxed look. She grabbed the cup in her right hand, and stared at the cup for a long time.
“So…..something happened again between you and Kim, right?” Natasha glanced at Kelly and intrigued. While drinking.
“Yeah—wait a minute! How did you know?”, Kelly asked with surprised.
“So, something really happened, huh. I see.” She chuckled.
“You cunning witch!” Kelly retorted.
“Don’t get mad at me sweety. Anyone can tell from your actions.” Natasha said with a calm demeanor.
“Did I do something stupid?”, Kelly asked in a surprise.
“Absolutely, stupid.” Natasha answered calmly with her closed eyes.
“Can you tell me, what exactly I did?”, Kelly asked anxiously.
“Well, you’ve been in the shower for… if I guess correctly, then I think, you were in there for about one hour.” Natasha replied with a funny tone.
“What? A whole hour has pa.s.sed? Why didn’t you inform me then?” Kelly said with a shock.
“I did sweat heart, but you were lost in your deep thoughts .You barely recognized my voice for a moment. But I am glad you’re back.” Natasha smiled at Kelly.
“Oh, is that so?” Kelly said gloomily.
“Seriously, Kelly! What happened between you two? Kim has been ignoring you since you got back from the infirmary.” Natasha asked Kelly with curiosity.
Kelly’s expression became ugly and she replied in anger, “I don’t know what to say? But I tried my best to talk to him but he turned down my every chance. I was so p.i.s.sed off, so I beat up his a.s.s, just a few minutes ago. And as a result he ran away with a tail between his legs. That’s what happened.”
“Ah!...” Natasha covered her mouth with of her hands in shock. “Oh my G.o.d! Kelly! Why are you so reckless?” Natasha exhaled in panic.
“What do you mean by that? I did what I had to.” She replied with a dark expression.
“I mean there was no reason for you to beat him up like this.” Natasha replied in while her hands were still on her mouth due to shock.
“Well, I had no other option here.” Kelly said with a disdain look.
Natasha stood up frequently. One of her hands moved from her mouth to her forehead. She was rubbing her forehead in confusion.
Natasha looked at Kelly in panic. “………Kelly! Do you know, what have you done?” Natasha asked with confused expression.
“I’ve done nothing wrong. It was all that b.a.s.t.a.r.d’s fault from the very start. Why am I the bad guy here?” Kelly retorted.
“You idiot!...idiot…IDIOT!… why didn’t you consult me for this? Have you forgotten that I am your friend? You IDIOT!” Natasha said in anger.
“Whoa, whoa! Calm down Natasha. Don’t treat me like I am some spoiled brat or something.” Kelly said in a hurry.
“I am telling you in advance that you will regret your actions later more than ever…… You messed everything up! Finally, when I saw a hope for the both of you…… you just destroyed it. And the most important thing, you beat him up.” Natasha said in panic.
Kelly was getting mad at Natasha for her reaction, “Please don’t talk any further. Stop degrading me already. I’ve had enough. If you want, you can have him for yourself. I swear I won’t interfere in your business.”
“That’s not what I mean—“
Before Natasha could finish, Kelly continued in disdain, “Some friend are you! Don’t talk about him anymore. If you don’t want to give me any face in front than you’re a bigger idiot than me. So, please stop talking about that b.a.s.t.a.r.d.”
Natasha looked at her with some suspicion, but then she didn’t say anything further. She talked about other things to set her mood. Kelly reply her if she found it interesting. After finish drinking, Kelly stood up, and waited for the rain to stop. When raining stopped, she thanked Natasha for her hospitality and left for the Dean’s office right away.
*******************************
The guard knocked the door. “Please come in!” a mature female voice sounded from inside of the room. Kelly and the guard entered the room.
“Miss Kelly Macbeth, I believe.” The mature female voice sounded from the chair where she was sitting.
“Yes Ma’am.” Kelly answered respectfully.
“Please! Have a seat.” She ordered Kelly from her chair.
‘Thank you!”, Kelly replied back and sat on of the empty seats.
“You may leave. And don’t let anyone in until I am finished with her.” She ordered the guard who was with Kelly to escort her to the office.
“Yes, Ma’am.” He turned around, closed the door and left the room.
The chair turned around and a female around in her middle-forty could be seen from a short distance. She glanced at Kelly and placed her both hands on the table and asked Kelly with a stern expression, “Miss Kelly, what happened between you two is another matter but first tell me this why Kim Osborn ran away like this from the campus ground in the middle of the storm.”
Kelly was caught off guard from the very beginning. She thought they would ask her about Kim’s ident.i.ty and something else like that. But never, she had imagined that the first question will be the major one and the reason behind Kim’s escape. She had no other option except for telling the truth.
“Ahem…well, the thing is Ma’am, I had a fight with this boy Kim. And went rogue due to his daily provocations so I beat him up.” She said with a calm face.
The dean didn’t say anything. She stood up from her chair. She reached out her hand to the wardrobe and brought a big yellow envelope from inside the wardrobe and threw placed it on the table.
“Miss Kelly, I want you to open it and take a look at them carefully and then tell me your answer truthfully afterwards.” She said calmly.
She looked at the envelope. She opened it. “What are these?” Kelly said in a confusion.
