Chapter 5.1 – Yan Sui, you are really good
“I want to eat egg fried rice … can I?” Meng ting was already looking forward to it.
Seeing Meng Ting's pitiful stare, Yan Sui could only relent. He gently nodded. Meng Ting's face once again broke out into a smile and he pulled on Yan Sui's sleeve. "I want lots of rice."
"Alright," Yan Sui really didn't know how much rice is considered “alot”…
Gu Lang received Yan Sui's text message. He stared at it for a long time, only to realize what he was seeing was actually real. Normally, all he had to do was order a maid if there was something that he needed done; however, this young master was suddenly hungry…at a banquet. Who asks for a egg fried rice delivery…at a banquet?
Due to his strong curiosity, Gu Lang decided to deliver the rice himself once the kitchen finished cooking.
"I never thought that one day I would be invited to eat with Yan Sui too, hahaha!" (Informal)
Just like his name, Gu Lang had an utmost clear and bright laugh. He walked towards Minguang Residence, only to see a bright and handsome young man sitting inside.
Inside the greenhouse, he saw Meng Ting. His laughter came to an abrupt end, turning into a heart-breaking cough instead. All those days that he spent grooming his hair, all those days that he spent praying for a better face…and yet this kind of beauty also exists in this world. Shouldn't it be banned?
“Cough…”
He made so much movement; Meng ting couldn't help but notice Gu Lang. And on to of that he was also carrying the much awaited egg fried rice.
Meng Ting's eyes brightened up and his nose twitched as he saw the fragrant rice. No other rice that he had come across in his life could compare to the fragrance that this pot gave off.
In addition to being very agile, Meng Ting also had a stronger sensitivity to smell than ordinary people. He can distinguish between many spices simply by their smell, foods that other people need to eat in order to identify, he can recognize by smell.
"Take it." Yan Sui swept his eyes to Gu Lang and mentioned towards Meng Ting.
Hearing Yan Sui speak, Gu Lang put away the look of surprise on his face and handed the box to Meng Ting.
Ah, lots of rice, they brought a lot of egg fried rice. Two days he didn't have anything to eat and this was the delicious meal that he had acc.u.mulated. Perhaps this was the so called karma… Meng Ting took small bites, however the speed at which he ate was practically inhuman. His speed became faster and faster, he completely ignored the two men who were staring at him as he ate.
Gu Lang repeatedly signaled to Yan Sui with a wink, however Yan Sui was not looking at him. When he had winked to the point that his eye were about to convulse, Yan Sui finally turned and saw his ridiculous act.
"This is Meng Ting, your future sister-in-law."
Gu Lang was twenty-six this year and Yan Sui was turning twenty-eight. The relations.h.i.+p between these two men was even closer than that of brothers. If Meng Ting marries Yan Sui, at once he would become Gu Lang's sister-in-law.
Gu Lang was stunned as he considered what Yan Sui could have meant by these words. He quiet obviously knew what Yan Sui and his mother's relations.h.i.+p was like. He Wan had done her best to find a bride of utmost uselessness for her son. Gu Lang had grumbled about He Wan's antics countless times to Yan Sui.
However, He Wan was Yan Sui's birth mother. Yan Sui needed also agreed that some matters needed to be held off until both his grandfathers pa.s.sed away. He can always break off his relations.h.i.+p with his mother later; it was not the right opportunity yet.
Gu Lang once again began to wink his eye at Yan Sui and this time Yan Sui nodded his head in response. Apparently, Yan Sui also agreed.
Yet he still did not understand one thing. This Meng Ting who had been handpicked by He Wan, why didn't Yan Sui dislike him? He had even met with the boy in private and given him food.
Along with the large portion of egg fried rice, Gu Lang had also brought a bowl of Gu broth. Meng Ting had cleaned the rice bowl to the point that not a single grain of rice could be found. With the rice finished, Meng Ting drained the broth. With all the food eaten, he leaned back and placed his hand on his stomach, satisfied.
He raised his head to look at Yan Sui gentle and beautiful face, ignoring the other man in the room. Seeing Yan Sui's exceedingly focused expression, Meng Ting couldn't help but feel his sincerity.
"Thank you."
His wife had been so hungry that he wasn't even able to stop eating until he finished his food, even thank him for the food. Yan Sui couldn't help but think that he had somewhat neglected the young boy before him. Meeting Meng Ting's gaze, he spoke, "I fed you because I ought to. You don't have to thank me."
Hearing this, Meng Ting subconsciously leaned his body forward, and his lips also stretched taut out of his control. His smile was as if a rose was blooming, this beauty was truly shocking to the eyes.
"Yan Sui, you're so good. It's really lucky that I'm able to marry you."
He had always wanted more to eat but his grandmother had never agreed. The people of the Meng household had always acted as if he had lived in luxury, as if he owed them his life just because his father had "graced" his mother. But Yan Sui was different. Yan Sui said that this was the way that things ought to be, Yan Sui understood.
"Cough…" Gu Lang coughed once again. Let alone Yan Sui, even he had never seen such a straightforward beauty. Ah, who could look him in the yes and say that he was a fraud?
Yan Sui's eyes swept over Gu Lang. Though he didn't say anything, Gu Lang understood that he was not wanted in the room. Really, Yan Sui was already dumping him for this new wife.
Gu Lang turned to leave the room. Yan Sui on the other hand had turned beet red around his ears, nevertheless, he was more certain than ever that Meng Ting liked him. Ah, this feeling really wasn't bad.
"Do you have a cellphone?" Yan Sui asked Meng Ting. Meng ting shook his head "no". Thinking of it, it really wasn't strange, considering what he had read in Meng Ting's profile. All of a sudden he felt an uncomfortable b.u.mp in his chest. Gulping, he rubbed Meng Ting's lightly curled hair, "Tomorrow I'll have my people bring one to you."
Meng Ting did not immediately nod. His eyes revealed a little bit of reluctance, no longer willing to part with the comfortable hand rubbing his head. "Is this how it ought to be? If you don't have to, then don't. I only want to eat and sleep well."
Meng Ting thought that this was what a waste's life should roughly be like. Eat and sleep well, don't irk the host's ire.
Yan Sui paused, his sharp phoenix eyes turning darker and darker, "Remember, I'm voluntarily giving it to you. It's ok, you don't have to say thank you and you don't have to be afraid."
Meng Ting finally lost the reluctance in his heart. Straightening his back, he looked Yan Sui in the eye with sincerity, "Yan Sui, you're really good."
Meng Ting indeed thought that Yan Sui was really good. In the end he also considered spending the rest of his life with him. Although Meng Ting was slow, he was good enough to be able to tell when a person had good or bad intentions towards him, and Yan Sui was on the good side.
Besides, they are soon going to be husband and wife so they will have to treat each other with sincerity. Yan Sui certainly wouldn't lie to him.
Yan Sui's mood was somewhat wonderful; he himself had not realized the gentle look on his face. Regarding the matter o marriage, he didn't hold any illusions or expectation for his other half, more accurately, he had never so much as thought of the matter.
However, these few "really good" from Meng Ting made him think that perhaps marrying the this cute little wife and bringing him back home wouldn't be so bad.
However, as soon as these soft feelings flew into his head, he pushed them down by force. His past experience told him that no matter who or what he faced, no matter how timid, he must keep his guard up and protect himself first. At the moment, Meng ting was unable to become an exception to this rule of his.
"It's getting late, let's walk back."
