Li Zong was very quick, but since there was a rather long distance between that office building and his apartment, it took him more than ten minutes to get home.

He Zheng was sitting on a sofa staring emptily at the ceiling. Tun Shanhai curling up on another sofa was licking his little pads.

With an impa.s.sive face, Li Zong relaxed the tense corners of his mouth and looked around. There was nothing unusual in the apartment. However, the creased carpet and the indistinct bloodstains on it were clear indications that something had indeed happened just now.

But Li Zong made no remarks. Seeing that his chief had come back, Tun Shanhai raised his head, tapped his feet on the sofa and leaped into Li Zong's arms. Li Zong stroked the cat and said, "You may go back. Han Zhuo and others will arrive soon."

Tun Shanhai gave a meow and jumped down to the ground. He Zheng didn't know how the cat did it, but clamping the unconscious intruder's clothes between its teeth, the cat carried the man to the window, jumped outside and disappeared.

Li Zong strode over the carpet without looking at the bloodstains on it, then asked He Zheng, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah," replied He Zheng absent-mindedly, mummering something. Li Zong walked closer and distinguished what he was mumbling.

"The four enlightened realms, the infinite heaven and earth, all G.o.ds bow before you, thunder is your servant. Ghosts and demons recoil, monsters and bogeys cower. Lend me your power. Bring evil to its end."

Remarkably, due to that thrill of excitement He Zheng had experienced a moment ago, he recalled every word of the incantation that Zu Zhichong recited on the plane that day.

With an emotionless countenance, Li Zong fished out his cellphone.

In the car.

Zu Zhichong and others were still driving madly heading for Li Zong's apartment. Suddenly, Li Zong's call came in. Zu Zhichong hurriedly answered the phone.

"Chief?"

"You guys come here to pick up Tun Shanhai. He's got a man bewitched by demonic Qi. Zu Zhichong shall come to my apartment."

Zhen Ni watched Zu Zhichong in concern. In perplexity, Zu Zhichong still wanted to say something but Li Zong hung up.

"What did Chief say?"

Zu Zhichong told her the truth.

The car halted steady and secure at the gateway of the housing district where Li Zong lived. Zu Zhichong got off and a white cat leaped into the car through the half-open window. Han Zhuo dexterously tied up the man brought by Tun Shanhai and threw him onto the back seat. Two unconscious, well-restrained men lay side by side like two zongzi (Traditional Chinese rice-pudding) waiting to be cooked.

Too concerned to delay, Zu Zhichong immediately ran into the elevator.

The burglar-proof door was unlocked. He quickly opened it and entered the apartment.

"Chief." Zu Zhichong's eyes immediately rested on the man standing in front of the sofa.

Li Zong nodded and then said to He Zheng, "Repeat the incantation that you just recited."

He Zheng knitted his eyebrows, probably unwilling to do what he was told to do, but the expression on Li Zong's face was more serious than usual, so He Zheng obeyed and recited the incantation once again.

Originally, Zu Zhichong had no idea what it was about, but after He Zheng incanted the spell, Zu Zhichong's face was full of dismay. He turned his head aside to look at Li Zong and stammered with amazed eyes, "Chief, you di–didn't teach him this, did you?"

Before Li Zong could answer him, he quickly shook his head and answered the question himself, "This can't be happening. Chief cannot recite incantations of Qingwei Sect even if he knows them."

Being kept in suspense by these two men, not having a clue what they were talking about, He Zheng instantly lost all the excitement of recalling the incantation. He crossed his arms against his chest, an impatient look on his face. "Stop talking in riddles. You recited this thing on the plane that day and I just recollected it."

Li Zong was transfixed with shock, sizing up He Zheng from head to feet. He Zheng couldn't help frowning beneath his gaze.

"You re–recollected it?"

Unwilling to tell them that his memory had grown considerably better after the magical seal in him was undone, He Zheng made no reply.

"He Zheng, have you any idea that the incantation you just recited is Qingwei Thunder Spell, which is the most powerful enchantment of Qingwei Sect!" Zu Zhichong exclaimed in astonishment.

"So what?"

Zu Zhichong took a deep breath and looked at He Zheng, a solemn expression on his face. "This means that you are overqualified to be my younger sect-brother. He Zheng, give it some consideration – be a member of the Qingwei Sect."
