Chapter 28: Stop Dwelling on It (2)
Translator: Dragon Rider
In the apartment in Century Town.

He Zheng was lying on the sofa, his stomach rumbling, but there was still no call coming in. He went somewhat angry. Never had he stood hungry for so long. 'G.o.d d.a.m.n you, Li Zong!'

He was just about to call Li Zong to give him a prod when the sound of a key turning in the lock came. He instantly became wary and twisted his head back.

Li Zong was holding a white cat with yin-yang pupils in one arm and carrying the takeouts for He Zheng with the other hand. Since He Zheng was light-complexioned, the wary expression on his face made him seem somewhat adorable. Li Zong unnoticeably curved his lips, took off his shoes and walked inside.

"Don't be nervous. It's me."

He Zheng cast a glance at the cat in his arms. Li Zong noticed this and asked, "You're not allergic to cats, are you?"

"No." He Zheng tightened his lips and then mumbled in a low voice, "My mother liked cats."

"The cat is very cute." He Zheng walked to the dinner table, drew a chair from beneath the table and sat down directly with no intention to give Li Zong a hand, as if he were a master.

After Li Zong entered, a couple of others followed him inside, among whom Zu Zhichong was the only one who had once come into contact with He Zheng. Grinning cheekily, Zu Zhichong called, "Greetings, sister-in-law!"

He Zheng squinted at Zu Zhichong and replied in a somewhat threatening tone of voice, "Call me that again and I'll make you regret it."

Having never expected that He Zheng would respond so aggressively, Zu Zhichong gasped in fear and said aggrievedly, "Okay, okay. I won't call you that again. You get angry so easily."

"I do, so don't mess with me. I have a bad temper." He Zheng rolled his eyes.

People behind Li Zong walked into the dining room one after another. Apart from Zu Zhichong, there were also a man and a woman. He Zheng noticed that the woman had been secretly sizing him up all along, the look in her eyes a trifle unfriendly.

"They're members of my group."

The first action group of SMB was fairly famous and He Zheng had heard about it a couple of times before.

Li Zong said, "We have a task tonight, and it'll be more convenient for us to get the job done if they come to my place. Sorry for not having informed you beforehand."

He Zheng said nothing. Ignoring those people, he took the takeouts from Li Zong's hand and started eating.

Seeing that He Zheng made no response to Li Zong, the woman beside Li Zong knitted her brows and observed fairly unhappily, "Chief is talking to you. You should at least have the courtesy to make a reply. This is so..."

He Zheng was actually rather graceful when having a meal. Originally, he had been eating, but on hearing the woman's words, he put his chopsticks aside, took a piece of napkin and wiped his lips. This woman's hostility towards him was so ill-concealed. 'When did I offend her?'

"He should be the one to judge whether I should make a response to him or not. Why are you the one saying this to me?"

His eyes were very bright. In fact, most women would find He Zheng's looks very attractive, and few women had ever showed hostility towards him, but surprisingly, Zhen Ni had taken an unswerving dislike to him.

He Zheng raised his chin and, in a somewhat arrogant manner, pointed at Zhen Ni. "Who are you to lay criticism on me?"

'This young childe is so bad-tempered.' Zu Zhichong was also from a wealthy family, who used to be a prodigal son and had turned over a new leaf afterwards. He didn't like the att.i.tude of people like He Zheng. "Zhen Ni was merely trying to remind you. Childe He, it was rude of you to say that."

He Zheng was somewhat unhappy.

"I was indeed rude. So what? Is this your place?"

"You–!"

Suffering from fidgets, He Zheng grunted "Bah", turned around and rose to his feet. Seeing the growing indignation on Zhen Ni's face, He Zheng snorted contemptuously. Then he noticed that Zhen Ni unnoticeably landed her eyes on Li Zong. It suddenly struck He Zheng why this woman had been acting like this. He squinted his eyes. "Do you by any chance... have a thing for Li Zong?"

Being seen through, Zhen Ni was not at all timid. Fully at ease, she looked He Zheng in the face and replied, "I do. You're not worthy of Chief."

He Zheng squinted his eyes. All people present sensed that this childe went furious.

Before anybody could guess what He Zheng was going to do next, he walked up to Li Zong and rudely grabbed Li Zong's tie. The two men's eyes met in mid-air. Without a second thought, He Zheng stared at Li Zong's lips and landed a kiss on them right in front of the others.

Zhen Ni could barely forbear to scream in shock. The others were also astounded.

Feeling that this was not enough, He Zheng pressed his whole body against Li Zong and kissed him even harder. A dismayed look flashed across the bottom of Li Zong's eyes, but he still took this opportunity and gently put his arm around He Zheng's waist.

"You–! Let him go!" Zhen Ni was infuriated.

He Zheng's tongue brushed around Li Zong's lips, and then he withdrew it and smacked his lips, as if savoring the lingering taste of the kiss. "Your lips taste pretty good, Li Zong."

Then he provocatively looked at Zhen Ni. "I disliked Li Zong pretty much in the past, but he's a very handsome man, and I'm a gay. On top of this, I dislike it the most when people covet my stuff or lay remark on me."

He released his grip on the tie of Li Zong. "You may make a move on him after I divorce him."

After saying this, He Zheng swaggered off and slammed the bedroom door after entering, leaving the others staring speechless at each other. Then they moved their eyes onto the wet lips of Li Zong, their throats dry, at a loss what to say.
