A Dog Falling into the River of Love
Although his finger was bitten, Lu Chenghe could clearly tell that the bite wasn't very heavy, his finger was merely contained in its mouth. Though he was close with Little Pudding, they haven't been together for a long time, and previously, this little thing had never made this kind of move. Thinking about it, it was probably because the injection hurt that it was acting spoiled?
Scratching its jaw, its round eyes slightly squinted in comfort and Lu Chenghe pulled out his wet finger. The maid on the side quickly stepped forward with a wet towel. Lu Chenghe randomly wiped his finger a bit and didn't mind it anymore. He picked up the rubber ball that he had placed aside previously and placed it between the two furry paws.
Seeing that Lu Chenghe liked the little puppy this much, Wen Ting also felt very happy. For those who liked pets, when seeing these cute little things meet good owners, all of them would feel gratified. After all, there were too many cases of abandonment in today's society. There were very few pets who could live a happy life.
Hearing Lu Chenghe's inquiry, Wen Ting said: "Little Pudding is only two months old and its body is not considered fat. Although it shouldn't be too greedy with food, eating a bit more would be good. Later, I will pa.s.s along a list of healthy nutrition ranges to your steward. As long as its values are within the ranges, it is healthy. However, the amount of dog a food needs and its body type alike cannot be entirely generalized by its breed. If you are worried, you can give Little Pudding a health check every month."
Lu Chenghe nodded. Without him needing to say anything, the steward came forward: "Doctor Wen, today you have worked hard. If there are any problems, I will contact you."
Wen Ting promptly said: "Okay then, if there's anything then do not hesitate to call me."
After the steward escorted the veterinarian out, the entire hall became quiet. Slightly lowering his head to look at Little Pudding who was playing on his body, it seemed that the little thing didn't like to bite things as it was always using its paws to scratch.
The nails hidden by the fleshy pads were somewhat red and transparent, they looked very delicate. Clawing and clawing, it quickly scratched the rubber ball with its nails, and in a short time, a gap was scratched out of the rubber ball.
Lu Chenghe reached out and pinched the small paw, feeling the nails which looked very delicate. They were a little hard, they weren't as weak as they looked. However, he still looked at it with a cold expression and warned: "You aren't allowed to randomly scratch things and you cannot scratch people."
Zuo Ning stuck out his tongue and panted, tilting his head to look at Lu Chenghe with an innocent expression: What are you saying? I don't understand.
As a curious coincidence [1], Lu Chenghe reached his hand out to pinch its mouth. The little mouth hasn't grown to be very pointed yet, it was slightly round so its face appeared to be fat. In contrast, its ears have already stood up, giving it a few more points overall. Looking over the fat little face for a while, Lu Chenghe said with a smile: "This small appearance is quite handsome."
Upon hearing these words, Zuo Ning immediately showed a Samo smile. The black and round eyes narrowed, and its expression was extremely warm. Though he has become a dog, he has to become a dog with value. If even this man said that he's handsome, then he would definitely be the most handsome among a group of dogs!
Seeing the change in its expression, Lu Chenghe's brows rose slightly: "You could hear that I was complimenting you?"
Zuo Ning certainly couldn't answer and he also couldn't respond so he jumped into Lu Chenghe's arms and rubbed against him. Looking at such a meng appearance, is he a bit more fond of him than he was yesterday?
Lu Chenghe did not let Zuo Ning stay on him for very long. Usually, he would go back to his room to handle his own affairs after dinner. Although he has been used to having people to serve him since he was young, he didn't like his every move to be watched.
Today, if not because he had to wait for the veterinarian to come for the injection, he also wouldn't stay in the living room for so long. Now that the matter was over, naturally, he would bring this sticky little thing back with him to the room.
Having arrived back in the bedroom, Lu Chenghe first placed Zuo Ning on the carpet before sitting down in front of the computer to handle work affairs. Zuo Ning, who was bored to death, walked around the area and found that the carpet was changed. This morning, it wasn't this colour. His own bathroom has also been cleaned up, and there was a faint aroma.
In the food bowl, there was also food placed. However, as soon as he got close to see what was inside, Lu Chenghe shouted.
Zuo Ning looked up to see Lu Chenghe also looking at him sideways: "You can't eat it, that's your midnight snack."
Puppies ate less so they got hungry rather quickly, and eating less but having more meals was beneficial to one's health. When it grew up, it wouldn't be necessary to put such strenuous effort into feeding it.
Zuo Ning was very full now and he also was not a dog without moderation. Originally, he didn't want to eat so hearing Lu Chenghe's coersion, he turned his head and ran over to lightly push on Lu Chenghe's leg.
Lu Chenghe looked at the little guy who was standing on two legs with his little b.u.t.t raised and tail wagging, pointing at the kennel: "Go sleep."
Zuo Ning howled once, he also wasn't a dog who just got off the boat [2]. Sleeping, this trick was already useless when facing him!
Lu Chenghe squinted a bit, was this because it was getting familiar with the previously unfamiliar domain and beginning to allow its inherent nature to show? But seeing those pitiful little eyes, Lu Chenghe only waited a few seconds before holding the little thing that hugged onto his calves and refused to go to sleep. Although it hasn't been bathed in the past few days, the steward would wipe Zuo Ning down everyday so its white fur was still fluffy, clean, and felt very smooth. Over and over again, the little thing would use the tips of its furry paws to climb onto his legs, and Lu Chenghe gradually began to like this feeling.
Waiting for his report to be sent over, he found that there was no movement on his legs so he looked down and found that at some point, the little white ball lying on his lap had fallen asleep.
Fortunately, it was still young now and its size was relatively small. In a few months, it couldn't be held in this way. Not knowing why, Lu Chenghe inexplicable felt that it was a bit of a pity.
The little thing was a particularly heavy sleeper. Regardless of whether its fur was rubbed or its paws were pinched, there was absolutely no sign of it waking up. Lu Chenghe looked down for a moment before picking up the phone from the table and taking a picture of its sleeping face as it snored.
Not knowing whether it was because of the shot, Zuo Ning couldn't sleep well in the middle of the night, repeatedly sleeping and waking up. In the end, his doziness was worn away by his tossing and turning. With his big black eyes, he could see the room's furniture in the dark.
His chin was resting on his two overlapped paws, and from his point of view, he could see the figure on the bed.
Zuo Ning was conflicted. If it climbed onto its owner's bed on the second day, would this kind of pet be thrown out? But thinking about their contact in the past two days, he thought that this man probably wouldn't. There wasn't any reason for this, only an instinctive feeling.
Likely because it was night, the dog had more courage and Zuo Ning climbed out from his kennel. Shaking his fur and circling the bed, climbing up onto the bed with his body size was somewhat difficult. However, there was a foot stool by the bed which wasn't too high, and with this boost, it could climb it.
After thinking about it, he put it into action. Zuo Ning chose a suitable point to run from, quickly ran two steps, kicked with his hind legs, and then his front two paws clung onto the bed. His hanging hind legs continuously kicked before he finally got onto the bed.
In the silent night, Zuo Ning silently breathed a sigh of relief. He had finally climbed onto the bed without having made any noise. His front two paws were placed on the edge of the bed and Zuo Ning glanced at the ground. It seemed that there was no turning back after climbing onto the bed. If he tried to jump down, he would likely fall onto the carpet. Though it wouldn't hurt, it was still a little scary.
Zuo Ning, who was the one to take the first step, was still a little nervous and carefully looked at the bed. There was no other movement. Very good. With great effort, this dog has climbed onto the bed.
Lu Chenghe woke up when the sky was bright. There might be rain today and the weather looked a little gloomy, but that didn't hinder his morning run. He sat in bed before sitting up and his first reaction was to go check the kennel on the other side of the bed.
However, he unexpectedly saw an empty kennel. Lu Chenghe's eyebrows were slightly knit. The room was very quiet and he couldn't hear any movement. Obviously, Little Pudding wasn't playing in the room. Looking around, he didn't see the puppy sleeping anywhere, so where was the dog?
Lu Chenghe had just prepared to get out of bed and find it when out of the corner of his eye, he saw that the dark quilt was mixed with a lump of white on the other side of the bed. His hand which was removing the quilt paused. Then, he turned his head and gently lifted the corner of the quilt to look inside. Little Pudding who had disappeared from the room was now lying right beside him.
When he promised his mother to help look after this little thing, Lu Chenghe asked the steward to find some caretaking guides for dogs. Dogs had poor vision when looking at still objects. When looking at something that was still, it was more difficult to recognize than by smell. Therefore, when sleeping at night, it was best to place the dog closer to its owner to make it feel safer.
So because this dog got an injection yesterday, it felt insecure, searched for his scent, and climbed onto his bed? Lu Chenghe had always been quite alert. Even when sleeping, he would wake up even from the slightest movement. But last night, he didn't feel anything. He didn't know when the little thing climbed up and it had even gotten into his quilt.
If this room had monitoring, then Lu Chenghe would see a foolish dog crawling forward, just this kind of little by little occupation of a strategic location!
After thinking about it, Lu Chenghe gave up on waking the dog up and got out of bed. Many people would think that letting a dog climb onto a bed would be rather dirty, but the level of a dog's hygiene depended on the person who was raising it. Raised properly, sometimes dogs were even cleaner than many people. Furthermore, his bed sheet and quilt cover were changed daily so Lu Chenghe didn't find it intolerable for this little thing to climb up onto his bed.
But today, he would get the steward to set up a fence around the kennel The habit of climbing up onto his bed could not be acquired.
When Zuo Ning heard sounds coming from the bathroom, he woke up and was also scared by himself. Did he really climb onto the bed? Was it that yesterday, he couldn't think properly? Why did he want to climb onto the bed?! Didn't he already decide on selling his good behaviour to capture people's hearts and improve the quality of his life little by little?!
Seeing that Lu Chenghe didn't throw him off of the bed, Zuo Ning thought it was a narrow escape. He then quickly got up and wanted to go back to his kennel. But when he climbed from the bed to the footboard, he found that it was so high that it would require courage to jump.
When Lu Chenghe finished freshening up, he saw the little thing going back and forth on the footboard of the bed to measure the height with its appearance showing that it wanted to go down but was scared. Seeing that he came out, it quickly made a cry for help.
Lu Chenghe smirked and lightly laughed, going over and poking the little thing's forehead: "It's too high for you to go down? Then how did you climb up last night?"
Then Zuo Ning looked foolish. This man actually smiled, and his smile was so beautiful. That smile really made people feel like they were looking at spring blossoms!
After twenty years as a human, he hadn't met someone who made his heart palpitate [3]. After less than ten days as a dog, he felt that he had met that someone. However, he and this person were separated by race. Could this situation still be saved?
