CH. XXI. 12, 13, 18, 19. CH. XI. 12-19.

18 Now in the morning, as he 12 And on the morrow, when returned into the city, he they were come from Bethany, hungered. he was hungry.

45 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought, 46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves.

47 And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests, and the scribes, and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, 48 And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

37 And in the day-time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called _the mount_ of Olives.

38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pa.s.s; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

22 And all things whatsoever 24 Therefore I say unto you, ye shall ask in prayer, What things soever ye desire believing, ye shall receive. when ye pray, believe that ye receive _them_, and ye shall have _them_.

25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespa.s.ses.

26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespa.s.ses.

32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen _it_, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.

CH. XX. 1-8.

And it came to pa.s.s, _that_ on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon _him_, with the elders, 2 And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, By what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?

3 And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me: 4 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?

5 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?

6 But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.

7 And they answered, That they could not tell whence _it was_.

8 And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

12 And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast _him_ out.

13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence _him_ when they see him.

14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
