Chapter 477 – In the River or Buried Alive
I might not be the Virgin Mary and I feel like someone like Fu s.h.i.+Jian is better off dead, but Xiao Qin’s apathetic att.i.tude when discussing a person’s life really scared me.
“Xiao Qin.” I asked seriously, “If I nod, will you really tell Uncle Long to kill Fu s.h.i.+Jian?”
“Of course.” Xiao Qin smiled at me like we were discussing an innocent topic, “Trying to take Ye Lin cla.s.smate’s life is an unforgivable crime, or do you want to let him go?”
It was Friday and most of the students were discussing where they wanted to hang out after school. In comparison, the conversation between me and Xiao Qin really felt out of place.
Xiao Qin pulled out her cellphone from her bag, “If you can’t do it, let me contact Uncle Long. I’ll tell them they could eat after getting rid of Fu s.h.i.+Jian.”
I caught onto Xiao Qin’s hand before she hit send, “Wait, do you really understand what you’re doing?”
“I understand.” Xiao Qin tilted her head, “I’m helping Ye Lin cla.s.smate remove a threat by getting rid of a bad person who shouldn’t be alive.”
It sounds like a righteous statement, but Hitler also said the same thing when he ma.s.sacred Jewish people.
Since Fu s.h.i.+Jian was one of Ai ShuQiao’s capable subordinate and he didn’t hesitate to fabricate a car accident to get rid of an opponent, it means the worst he has done isn’t simply s.e.xual a.s.sault, his hands may already be stained with blood.
If he was struck by lightning and killed, then I wouldn’t feel anything. But it’s a completely different matter if Xiao Qin sends triads to get rid of him.
Ai Mi was 4 years old when she was tricked by Ai ShuQiao and poisoned her own grandfather and committed homicide.
Although there won’t be a jury that would convict Ai Mi, if she found out about the truth, it would become something that would weigh her down.
I can’t let Xiao Qin kill someone for me.
Even if it’s a piece of s.h.i.+t like Fu s.h.i.+Jian, I can’t let his blood stain Xiao Qin’s hands.
Thus I told Xiao Qin to contact her bodyguards to tell them to not make a move yet. I could even hear Fu s.h.i.+Jian’s pleading through the phone.
“Why can’t Ye Lin cla.s.smate make a decision?” Xiao Qin didn’t understand my actions, “If Ye Lin cla.s.smate was killed, then I will die from heart break. So if I get rid of him right now, it wouldn’t be wrong to say it’s self defense.”
“It has nothing to do with self defense. If you ordered Fu s.h.i.+Jian to be killed, then no matter what, it would be homicide…”
Xiao Qin interrupted me, “So what if it’s homicide? If it’s for you, I can even do ****. As long as Ye Lin cla.s.smate safe, I can even wipe out the human race.”
How ridiculous. I actually felt a bit comforted even when she said bone-chilling words.
I patted Xiao Qin’s head and she instantly calmed down like a pet cat.
“I’m grateful you’re willing to do anything for me, but homicide isn’t something you should bear. As for how we will punish Fu s.h.i.+Jian, we’ll think of another way.”
Xiao Qin wanted to protest, but I grabbed her attention by patting her head. She finally gave Uncle Long’s phone number to me and let me decide Fu s.h.i.+Jian’s fate.
Apparently, Uncle Long and the others brought Fu s.h.i.+Jian to a mountain on the outskirts of a horse racetrack. If he doesn’t receive any information from Xiao Qin or me by midnight, then he would bury Fu s.h.i.+Jian alive. The triads are quite ruthless.
A life was at stake, so I requested a leave of absence so I could go home and think about how to deal with Fu s.h.i.+Jian.
I saw Su Qiao after I came home and felt she had a right to state her opinions as one of Fu s.h.i.+Jian’s victims.
I told Su Qiao to sit on the sofa while I brought a folding chair to sit in front of her. I spoke to her in a half-serious, half-jokingly:
“Su Qiao, you suffered a lot because of Fu s.h.i.+Jian, so do you think he should die or live?”
Su Qiao had fear in her eyes as she stammered.
“As expected… Xiao Ye… you kidnapped Mr. Fu? You… didn’t have to do that for me…”
It wasn’t me who kidnapped Fu s.h.i.+Jian and it wasn’t done for you. The most important thing was to hear how a victim wanted to punish Fu s.h.i.+Jian.
Su Qiao trembled on the sofa and I couldn’t help but joke around a bit and imitate Xiao Qin’s tone:
“If you want him to die, then I’ll tell someone to put him in a metal bucket then seal it with concrete so he could never escape.”
“Please don’t.” Su Qiao waved her hands urgently, “You shouldn’t have discussed something so scary with me. He might be detestable, but he doesn’t deserve death…”
As I predicted, Su Qiao also didn’t agree with Fu s.h.i.+Jian being eliminated.
“Then… do I have to release him without any injuries?” It seems I became a supported of Xiao Qin’s methods.
“No, didn’t one of his ears already get cut off? I don’t think that counts as no injuries…”
As for Fu s.h.i.+Jian’s ear being cut off, it wasn’t actually intentional. It was because Fu s.h.i.+Jian picked up a nearby box cutter from a drawer and wanted to fight back, and he cut off one of his own ears in the struggle.
I brushed away some of the dust on my knees, “In any case, Fu s.h.i.+Jian not only s.e.xually a.s.saulted the talents he signed, he also resorted to underhanded means to deal with his compet.i.tors. It’s a waste of air for him to be alive and a waste of land when he dies, but you might as well take the chance while he’s in… our hands to make a request he would usually never agree to.”
Su Qiao suddenly became aware of something after my reminder. She requested me to tell Fu s.h.i.+Jian to terminate the contract between her, the three other girls who signed at the same time, and Tian Mu Xian Guang Company.
So I made a call to Uncle Long and pa.s.sed on Su Qiao’s request. Since Xiao Qin already told him to treat my orders as hers, Uncle Long didn’t say anything. He pointed at Fu s.h.i.+Jian, who was being forced to dig his own grave, and asked if he wanted to live or die. Fu s.h.i.+Jian saw an opportunity and grabbed onto Uncle Long’s leg while crying and said he wanted to live.
Afterward, under Uncle Long’s supervision, Fu s.h.i.+Jian gave a call to his personal a.s.sistant and told them to bring our those four contracts and terminate them.
“If you lied to us, then we’ll find you again.” Uncle Long, who was wearing a professional head covering, threatened Fu s.h.i.+Jian. Fu s.h.i.+Jian held his b.l.o.o.d.y ear stump and quickly said “I didn’t, I didn’t”.
Su Qiao originally thought she would be tied down by contract for ten years, but it was dissolved overnight. It was like she finally got a breath of fresh air after having her head forced underwater, and she finally broke out into a smile.
The other three who were unknowingly able to escape should also feel just as happy. It looks like it was right to not get rid of Fu s.h.i.+Jian in a hurry.
That night, Fu s.h.i.+Jian was tied onto one of the horses from the race track. Uncle Long kicked the horse on the b.u.t.t and sent him on his way back towards the city.
Su Qiao made a report to Ai ShuQiao about me kidnapping Fu s.h.i.+Jian the same night and it was heard by me real time.
“You lied to me?”
Ai ShuQiao had an ice cold laugh as she questioned Su Qiao.
“Madam Ai, I never lied! Ye Lin sent someone to kidnap Fu s.h.i.+Jian. Ye Lin also helped me dissolve the contract, I never expected…”
“It was me who didn’t expect it.” Ai ShuQiao said furiously, “I don’t care where Ye Lin met those **, but it’s commendable he would kidnap anyone who’s hostile towards him, as expected of my son. What I’m furious about is that you lied when you told me you had s.e.x with Ye Lin. Do you think you could always keep me in the dark?”
Su Qiao s.h.i.+vered when she heard and almost dropped her phone.
When Ai ShuQiao was scolding Su Qiao, I could roughly guess the detective Ai ShuQiao hired was watching us with binoculars during the night to see the situation in our house. Since I slept with the windows open on Wednesday, the detective discovered Su Qiao wasn’t sleeping with me and he reported it to Ai ShuQiao.
Ai ShuQiao used all kinds of words to threaten Su Qiao. She still couldn’t forget Ai ShuQiao told her to quickly make a stance and Su Qiao cried the entire night. I wanted to go and comfort her but was afraid something would happen if a lone man and woman was together at night.
The next morning, Su Qiao had prepared my breakfast like usual. She said to me with red eyes that after she finishes the termination contract at the company today, she would leave Dong Shan city and head back to her hometown to lie low.
Su Qiao never explained why she had to lie low, maybe she thought I already knew everything. I sighed and asked if she wanted me to send her off to the train station.
“No need to trouble you.” Su Qiao lowered her head to me, “It’s already enough you helped me with the contract… and I’m slowly starting to understand a battle between the rich isn’t something I should partic.i.p.ate in…”
After making my breakfast for the last time and was.h.i.+ng my clothes for the last time, Su Qiao got on the afternoon train home.
