Chapter 146: Shadow of the White Fox

Ling Yun couldn’t help but curse as the once peaceful stream was now a thirty meter wide, violent river. The road on this side of the river was wet and considering how it was two meters higher than the river bank, the opposite side must have been totally flooded.

“D*mn!” Ling Yun sorrowfully said as he flew towards the location of the s.h.i.+chiyou Herb with furrowed brows while trying to feel the spiritual energy in the air.

“Whew…”

Even though it was covered by the water, Ling Yun was still able to faintly feel the spiritual energy emitting from the s.h.i.+chiyou Herb with his abilities, which proved that the s.h.i.+chiyou Herb was still present.

“Baby, you must be strong for me and not get washed away!” Ling Yun mumbled with an uncommon expression of worry on his face. The spiritual energy of the s.h.i.+chiyou Herb might not be as powerful as immortal spiritual energy or dragon spiritual energy but it was the key to the improvement of Ling Yun’s abilities. If it were to be washed away, Ling Yun would no longer be able to train with such comfort! Where would he find another energy source that was so stable?

However, with the flood, Ling Yun was unable to do anything but pray before he sighed and stood up to leave. Gosh, if the s.h.i.+chiyou Herb could be replanted, it would prevent excessive worrying and save me so much trouble every night!

Just as Ling Yun turned around, he saw a flash of white on the opposite bank from the corner of his eyes. The thing had a small body but an extremely large tail. A fox?! Ling Yu’s sharp eyes were able to recognize the animal with just one look.

Why didn’t I see it before? Unless it is also waiting for the s.h.i.+chiyou Herb to mature? He wondered. The white shadow moved quickly and in an instant, it disappeared from Ling Yun’s field of vision.

If it is really here for the s.h.i.+chiyou Herb, then it must have already activated its spiritual wisdom… He was uninterested in chasing after the animal as it was only a small white fox with one tail, so he left the place once it disappeared .

Using his abilities, Ling Yun was able to reach Xuefu Road instantly and was met with piles of rubbish and stones littering the road, along with fallen trees. He shook his head and bitterly said, “What a mess!”

Even though it was no longer raining, there was not a soul in sight even within the cars that had been washed onto the road by the strong currents. “There should be a mall that is still in business…” Ling Yun muttered as he ran up the streets to find a small shop that sold female clothes with its lights on.

As Ling Yun entered the shop, the owner was sighing due to the storm. She had been planning to sell more clothes today to those students who had just started school but was now unable to do so.

“I’m buying clothes!” Ling Yun said to the owner once he entered the shop. The thirty-year-old owner had never thought that anyone would be shopping in such a situation and immediately stood up to welcome him regardless of his gender. Finally, Ling Yun bought many different kinds of clothes ranging from jeans to s.h.i.+rts, including a few pairs of underwear and two 36D bras. He then paid for the clothes and under the gaze of the speechless owner, he left.

“What a shame. Such a handsome man and yet he’s a perverted gay…” The owner shudders in disgust while staring at Ling Yun’s back. “He doesn’t even know how to bargain, allowing me to earn more than seven hundred dollars!” She then lowered her head as she started counting the one thousand dollars that Ling Yun had given her with a smile on her face.

“I’m back!” Ling Yun shouted. Of course, he entered by jumping over the wall as he was getting too lazy to walk by the actual gate.

“Did you buy it?” Zhuang Meifeng ran up to him and grabbed the bag from his hand before running back into his room. After listening to the sound of plastic bags moving for 20 minutes, Zhuang Meifeng finally appeared in front of Ling Yun with a beaming face.

Her wine-red hair was braided which made her pale neck seem even more alluring. The white blouse that was tucked into a pair of sky-blue jeans emphasized her thin waist and firm chest. Standing in front of Ling Yun, her pair of long legs had absolutely no curves or gaps and was the definition of perfect legs.

“I never thought that you would have a good fas.h.i.+on sense!” She batted her eyes as she twirled around and asked, “Do I look good?” While it may not be branded, Zhuang Meifeng still gained back her confidence with proper clothes on her.

Ling Yun disagreed with her words that he had a good fas.h.i.+on sense but rather, it was because of her perfect body that made the clothes look good. He thought that no matter what she wore, it would look good and with nothing on, she would look even better! He then distractedly said, “You look good but not as good as when you have nothing on…”

“Stop saying that!” Zhuang Meifeng stepped forward to punch Ling Yun with a blus.h.i.+ng face.

“Are we going to eat supper now?” She panted due to her hunger, considering it was 10 pm at night.

“What do you want to eat? I have to warn you that many stores are closed due to the flood!” He kindly reminded Zhuang Meifeng.

“Don’t worry, let’s go to Ues.h.i.+ma Coffee to eat western food…” She replied as she hooked her arm onto Ling Yun’s elbow.

That afternoon, Tang Meng had sent Ning Lingyu and Xue Meining back to school with the Maserati. He then sent Li Qingchuan home before driving home himself. The Maserati was currently parked beside his Hummer. It definitely would not get flooded.

“That’s weird. After Boss’ aggressive display today, why aren’t there pictures or videos on the web forums?” Tang Meng was currently at home in front of his personal laptop, surveying the web forum of Qingshui High School while smoking a cigarette.

“Could it be that everything has been deleted? Or is it because it can’t be uploaded?” Tang Meng questioned in annoyance. His guesses were correct as the IP address of those who had uploaded the images of Ling Yun beating up Xiaohu were immediately blocked. The students were unable to upload anything or even load the website.

The power and speed that Ling Yun had shown this afternoon was almost demonic and the relevant departments would definitely not allow such images to spread.

“The clear photos of the waterspout are already uploaded but sadly, there are no videos.” Tang Meng scrolled through the website once more before snubbing out his cigarette and sitting there in deep thought.

He had a headache from thinking about the gamble with Ling Yun because in his opinion, the gamble might fail. If they were betting on Ling Yun getting into university, there was a high chance that they would lose badly.

“Boss, if you want to earn money from the gamble, can’t you make it less obvious? With your arrogance, I would bet with you even if it’s about you getting into Harvard or Oxford, much less Yanjing University!” Without a doubt, Tang Meng’s headache just got worse.

Ling Yun had already shown too many miracles and had garnered many fans in school. Without talking about the possibility of Ling Yun getting into university, the amount of fans that were willing to lose money just to support him after hearing Tang Meng’s declaration of the bet was uncountable.

Based on what they had agreed on, he would have to pay a hundred dollars per person if Ling Yun was to get into Yanjing University. Tang Meng would be unable to pay off his debt even if he sold his life.

“Forget it, I’ll have to discuss with Ling Yun again before deciding. As it is April Fools tomorrow, I’ll release a rumor to test the waters. If it is not possible, I’ll just say that it is an April Fool’s joke.” Tang Meng quickly thought up a plan before going back to his computer to check on his download.

However, he received a phone call from Li Qingchuan before he was even able to sit down properly. Li Qingchuan said, “Come and fetch me with your Hummer. Then send Little Ning home!”

Tang Meng hung up the phone and wondered why Li Qingchuan had not given up. He shook his head, wore his s.h.i.+rt and went to the garage to get his car.

Crossing the roads that had been swept by the flood, Tang Meng drove his car to pick up Li Qingchuan before setting off towards the school. Li Qingchuan was obviously very fl.u.s.tered as he asked for a cigarette from Tang Meng the moment he steps into the car. After lighting up the cigarette, he contemplated for a moment before saying, “I told my mom about Ling Yun curing me and now she wants to meet him.”

Tang Meng replied seriously, “She has to meet him. Let me tell you, I have been talking to him for a few days. He is definitely not a normal person and there will be benefits from following him!” Although there might be doubts, Tang Meng just told Li Qingchuan of his opinions. Before meeting Ling Yun, the two of them had been best friends, so of course, he had to tell Li Qingchuan these things.

Wrinkling his brows, Li Qingchuan said, “Of course I can see that he is no ordinary person. However, don’t you see what will happen? I will lose Little Ning!”

Tang Meng suddenly stopped the car and turned his head to look at Li Qingchuan. With absolute seriousness, he said, “Brother, you have never gotten Little Ning, so how can you say that you will lose her? If Ling Yun didn’t appear, you would have stood a chance but now, I have to tell you this as your brother, you have no chance! Give up!”

Hearing that, Li Qingchuan was stunned and his handsome face turned slightly pale and slightly red. He grinded his teeth and contemplated for a moment before letting out a long sigh. “Just drive. I will send Little Ning back one last time…”
